them inspiration feels

First Conceived: 07/04/20, 2233

Just watched Bohemian Rhapsody and I got them inspired buzzzzzes. Especially from watching their live aid concert at the end (dope they show most of their set to conclude the movie). I thought while I have these vibes, I would try to articulate them. So here goes nothing.

The feeling of inspiration physically lives in the diaphragm. It radiates out through your arms; into my fingers in this moment. It is also in the heart, pulsing them feels out. Rare vibes, so treasure the moments you stumble upon them. Maybe it is the best feeling of all? It actually has a very similar physical sensation to love. But let us stay with those inspirational vibes; enough of love. It seems probable that inspiration is more common during our youth, as the world slowly uncovers itself in new profound ways. Whereas, as we age, it becomes more and more difficult to find surprise in the subtleties of life. Following that line of thought, maybe inspiration needs to have an element of surprise attached to it? That seems to sit right in my head; it is the words/moments where we lest expect to be inspired when the raw sensations blaze the strongest. So how can we ensure our inspirational resources are not used up? The world needs to stay new to us. Perhaps that is why people are so fond of travel, a reliable hit of inspiration. Nevertheless, there are a many more ways to keep the world new my friends! You just have to be willing to look like a fool for a period; a state we work to avoid. It is foolery that allows us to push the boundaries of our beliefs, it is foolery that allows us to learn new skills, it is foolery that keeps us human, for what are we but fools in aged skin that suggests a façade of wisdom?

Inspiration is also tangled up in the yearning of arts. Suppose, art is a visualisation/audible version of inspiration. Maybe that is it’s transmission tool? And maybe, this is the reason why art is the most important thing to humanity; it is what defines humanity.

If we run out of inspiration, where would our species run? Inspiration is the will to live, the will to say no to the ever present option of death.

Yes, inspiration does come in many forms: surprise, love, art. What else? Could we perhaps say people themselves? Indeed! People’s actions and words inspire us. Moreover, this may suggest that inspiration, as undeniable an emotion as it is, can also be, negative? I think so, which is not where I thought I would end when examining the emotion. Maybe it is a form of ecstasy, pushing us to act on instinct with little to no regard for our actions. Therefore, there is an associated danger with inspiration; as there is with all forms of exuberant emotion. Danger is what makes people inspirational in themselves! The people who empower inspiration are those who take risks and put their head on the line. Consider Freddy Mercury, he sacrificed himself for the masses, for the music. He literally lost whom he was without even knowing it was happening; he became the queen of the world, in his head. Inspiration is in fact destruction; maybe destruction is a component of inspiration. Consider revolution. A revolutionary leader pry’s on the inspirational emotion, using it’s force to feed others, and organise them on their way down the chaotic path. There is no real confirmation the grass is in fact greener on the other side, but they accept the inspirational outrage, adopt it for the tough road towards a (hopefully) better world. That is the power of inspiration. It can disregard the human vision, the rationale. It can place one in the moment so much so, that the future is nothing more than a concept. Inspiration is then a tool to bring out our animalistic side. That too, would explain its pleasure, as we are getting in touch with who we are at the molecular level. We can give into the inspiration, and maybe drugs only empower this ability!

Consider a drug to be inspiration; it has an associated surprising effect, it brings out a love within you did not know was there, and simultaneously a hate - Perhaps hate is just as inspirational as love though. A drug also has the ability to enhance the arts, from a creative and observatory standpoint. They have the power to focus your attention beyond the surface; you look into why a painter was striking his brush in a certain way, you hear the emotion behind the words of a vocalist, you feel the emotion in a good drama. In the same way, the artist has to embody the inspiration, take on the role, which is harder than you think; giving yourself up, as Freddy did, for others to benefit from your fruits. Si, I think the truly great artists are those who give into their inspirational compass. It takes over them, and then it’s a blur, the result is whatever art comes from that, the good, the bad, and the ugly. And it is their inspiration that resonates with the masses. Isn’t that fucking incredible?? One person’s feeling can transcend all humanity, it is bigger than anyone, as everyone accepts it to be. And perhaps this is what god is, or at least where the concept arose? Thus, I believe in the necessity of serrating the art from the artist, as the art is bigger than the medium who portrays the message.

Can you deny that feeling of inspiration? Yes, you sadly can, and I think people do it all too often, for they are scared to act on instinct, scared to let it control them. And fair enough, for there are risks that we have discussed when one acts on inspiration. You could well blow up the world, for the better or the worse. So take your inspirational moments with a grain of salt. Ahhh that’s also shit advice though, because there is nothing better than acting on inspiration! Paradox.

Who are you, the inspirational actor? The inspirer? The one who conforms through inspiration? The one who pushes the boundaries to evoke inspiration? Are you the artist that is going to extract the moment, separate the emotion/message, of/for the people? For everyone to relish in? Or, are you the inspired fool who turns out to be the next Hitler? Fuck the extremes are extreme!! And that is probably why so few of us are inspirational; we would rather play in the middle, allowing it to enter and exit our lives in doses. We take it like a drug, like happiness, like any other emotion; we moderate it and control it’s urge. Or does that lead to nothing but misery…

That felt good, you could say I was acting on inspiration. That may be why writing is such a joy of life, you can act on your inspiration in a safe manner. An outlet with an end product still, not lost inspiration, but captured. Perhaps I can store this for a rainy day. Enjoy future self, or don’t! haha maybe this sense of inspiration will not transcend this moment, in which case.. at least I got to explore the emotion. Peace!
